Pilates Mat Exercises to Strengthen the Lower Back, Stomach or Abs
Some people find that Pilate mat exercises works great while others think that it is suck since it's very difficult to be performed. Pilates mat exercises, are the modest basics of the Pilates exercise invented by Joseph Pilates in the early 1910. Many people think that Pilates must have something to do with machines that have springs and bands, but Pilates can also be done without machines, just a simple mat, and this is called Pilates mat work, or simple Pilates mat. Pilates mat workout is a very effective exercise for the stomach.
Pilates mat exercises have been considered very beneficial, especially for those who want stronger stomach muscles and a stronger core. Stronger core here means to strengthen the lower back and the abs. Pilates is a low intensity groups of exercises that can be used to strengthen your muscles.
Usually, Pilates exercises are performed using Pilates machines such as home Pilates reformers, however, Pilates mat exercises have more challenging exercises simply because your body doesn't rely on the support of the machine to perform the exercise, you don't use the machine to shoulder the exercise you are working on. These will lead to a variety of developments, more so, on the abs than any part of the body. This is great since the fat under the navel is really hard to get to.
The other benefit of a Pilates mat exercise is it does not need any heavy exercise equipment. Unlike other Pilates exercises such as the Aero Pilates cardio rebounder, Pilates mat exercise only need a Pilated mat to start your workout to strengthen your lower back and other parts of your body. Of course any Pilates exercises will require some sort of instructor, either a real one, or a video, for guidance on what to do and correct you when you are doing something incorrectly. So, do you really need an instructor? The answer is yes, any exercises need an instructor, even the Pilates mat exercise which may seem so simple to do. In fact, Pilates mat exercises can be very advanced body work, and doing it incorrectly can cause injuries. If you decide to take a Pilates mat class, make sure your instructor has real qualifications i.e. certified by a qualified school, etc. before you join it.
Now, for Pilates mat instructor, what would be best, a DVD or a real one? Well, let's compare the two of them.
A real instructor can correct any wrong movements, can position you properly when you do a wrong posture, and can personalize the exercise you're doing particularly for your body's needs. However, you'll need to pay the price for a real instructor or pay for classes monthly for that.
With a DVD, you'll only have to buy it once and then you can use it for years to come. Also, a Pilates mat exercise DVD has its own convenience, you don't need to travel to the gym or to class to do your workout. You can just unfold your mat on the floor, turn on the DVD and you're ready to start your Pilates mat exercises to correct your posture and strengthen your lower back, stomach or abs and your whole body. But rememeber, a Pilates mat exercise DVD does not come with any specific instruction for personal implementation. It'll all depend on yourself to perform it correctly and effectively. Nevertheless, there are lots of Pilates mat exercise videos out there that have been getting good reviews recently.
Some people think that a DVD instructor is as good as the real instructor, but, if you can afford a real instructor, then get one.
